COLUMBIA, Ky. – Lindsey Wilson freshman Annabel Fletcher was named the Mid-South Conference Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, conference officials announced Monday. 

The Boonsboro, Maryland native continued her strong play in goal, earning her second straight MSC Defensive Player of the Week honor and posting back-to-back shutouts for No. 22 Lindsey Wilson. Fletcher played all 90 minutes in both matches, helping the Blue Raiders shutout Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) and Bethel (Tenn.) last week. 

The freshman totaled eight saves across the two victories, anchoring a defense that has now gone over 180 consecutive minutes without allowing a goal. Originally a defensive midfielder, Fletcher has stepped into the goalkeeper role, providing flexibility and leadership for the Blue Raider back line. 

Her performance helped Lindsey Wilson close the regular season on a five-match unbeaten streak heading into postseason play. 

Fletcher and the No. 22 Blue Raiders will be back on the field for postseason action as they take on Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) in the Mid-South Conference quarterfinals at Ray Wells Field in Walter S. Reuling Stadium 4 p.m. CT Thursday October 30.
