COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Lindsey Wilson football team hosts Indiana Wesleyan next Saturday in the NAIA Football Championship Series Second Round.
NAIA officials announced the pairings for the second round tonight following the conclusion of today's first round. The Blue Raiders (9-1) will take on the Wildcats (9-2) at Parnell Family Stadium at Noon CT next Saturday.
Both teams received a first-round bye as Lindsey Wilson is the No. 7 overall seed, and Indiana Wesleyan earned the 11th seed. Next week's matchup is the first-ever meeting between the two programs.
Lindsey Wilson closed out its season winning its last three games to take home the Mid-South Conference championship. The Wildcats enter next Saturday's matchup on a six-game winning streak. Indiana Wesleyan went a perfect 5-0 capturing the Mid-States Football Association Mideast title.
16th-seeded Saint Francis (Ind.) travels to top-seeded Grand View (Iowa), No. 15 Southeastern (Fla.) heads to No. 2 Keiser (Fla.), No. 14 Carroll (Mont.) heads to No. 3 Montana Tech, No. 13 William Penn (Iowa) travels to No. 4 Friends (Kan.), No. 12 Campbellsville (Ky.) heads to No. 5 Benedictine (Kan.), No. 10 Dordt (Iowa) travels to No. 6 Marian (Ind.), and No. 9 Morningside (Iowa) goes to No. 8 College of Idaho in the other second round matchups.
