GEORGETOWN, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College women's golf team finished second at the Bluegrass Fall Classic hosted by Georgetown (Ky.) College on Thursday and Friday at Cherry Blossom Golf Club.
Lindsey Wilson shot a two-day total of 686 (364-322) over the 6,004-yard Cherry Blossom course. Berry (Ga.) College won the tournament with a total 652 (334-318).
Georgetown ended the day in third with a team-total of 699 (350-349), Trevecca Nazarene (Tenn.) University finished fourth with 719 (362-357), Campbellsville (Ky.) University finished fifth with 730 (367-363) and St. Catherine (Ky.) College finished sixth with a 974 (477-497).
Lindsey Wilson sophomore
Beth Cooper led the Blue Raiders with a two-day total 161 (85-76). Cooper's 161 was good enough for a tie for second place, earning her a place on the all-tournament team.
Cooper's runner-up finish gives her a first and a second for the fall season. Cooper won the Kentucky Wesleyan Invitational on September 16.
Berry's Ashley Trenz earned medalist honors with a two-day total of 158 (80-78).
Lindsey Wilson sophomore
Jessica Robertson finished 10th in the 37-woman field with a 169 (86-83). Sophomore
Lindsay Roberts' 177 (95-82) was good enough for 14th, while junior
Stacy McClain's 179 (98-81) enabled her to finish in a tie for 15th. Freshman
Aline Decker finished tied for 20th with a 184 (100-84).
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 7:30 a.m. CT on Monday, October 3, as the Blue Raiders travel to the Don Bishop Invitational hosted by Campbellsville (Ky.) University at Campbellsville Country Club.
