Duncan, Williams Lead Lindsey Wilson to 76-65 Win Over Blue Mountain

Box Score HENDERSON, Tenn. -- Lindsey Wilson College sophomore center Tarren Duncan scored a career-high 27 points and senior forward Demoya Williams recorded a double-double to lead the Blue Raiders to a 76-65 win over Blue Mountain (Miss.) College on Friday at the Freed Hardeman (Tenn.) University Classic.

Duncan and Williams combined for over half the Blue Raiders' points and rebounds en route to the season-opening win.
Duncan added nine rebounds to her career-high point total. Duncan's 27 points bested her previous career-high of 18 points set last season against Brescia (Ky.) University. Williams scored 15 points and grabbed a game-high 14 rebounds. Williams' rebound total helped the Blue Raiders out-rebound Blue Mountain 40-23 for the game.

Lindsey Wilson (1-0) overcame 32 turnovers for the game by shooting 51.9 percent (28 for 54) from the field. Duncan led the way making 11 of 18 from the field.

Lindsey Wilson sophomore Krystal Jackson came off the bench to add 11 points and five assists. Jackson's 11 points are one point off her career high. Sophomore Kera Gibson scored a career-high nine points, on three of six shooting from beyond the three-point arc, in her first collegiate start.

The Lindsey Wilson defense limited Blue Mountain to 37.3 percent (19 for 51) shooting from the field. The Blue Raiders also forced the Toppers into 25 turnovers.

Blue Mountain junior Kelly Yates led the Toppers (0-1) with 14 points and five rebounds. Junior Lauren Ford added 13 points.

Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 4 p.m. CT on Saturday, October 29, as the Blue Raiders play host and No. 2-ranked Freed Hardeman in the final day of the FHU Classic.
