OWENSBORO, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College women's golf team won their opening match of the season on Friday at the Kentucky Wesleyan College Invitational at The Summit Golf and Country Club.
Lindsey Wilson sophomore
Beth Cooper grabbed medalist honors with a five-over par, 77 over the 6,098-yard. Par 72 course.
The Blue Raiders shot a team-total of 322 for the win in the one-day tournament. Bellarmine (Ky.) University finished second with a team-total of 347.
Cooper, a Russell Springs, Kentucky, native, earns her second career win, beating Lindsey Wilson freshman
Aline Decker by one shot. Cooper won the 2004 Cumberland College Fall Invitational last September.
Decker's 78 earned her second place in her first collegiate tournament.

Lindsay Roberts finished tied for fifth following her 83, while sophomore
Jessica Robertson finished tied for seventh with an 84. Lindsey Wilson junior
Stacy McClain's 88, tied for 10th, gave the Blue Raiders five in the top-10.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action on Thursday and Friday, September 29-30 as the Blue Raiders travel to the Georgetown (Ky.) College Invitational at Cherry Blossom Golf Club.
