Box Score COLUMBIA, Mo. -- The Lindsey Wilson College women's basketball team suffered their sixth straight loss tonight with an 83-80 defeat at Columbia (Mo.) College.
Lindsey Wilson (0-6) shot a higher percentage from the field than its opponent -- 43.5 percent to 36.8 percent -- but was able to overcome Columbia (4-0) shooting 20 more free throws in the game.
The Cougars made 12 more free throws in the game, in fact Columbia made more free throws than the Blue Raiders attempted. Columbia hit 27-of-45 free throws, while the Blue Raiders were 15-of-25.
The Blue Raiders led 43-37 at the break after shooting 43.9 percent (18-of-41) from the field in the first half. Columbia was limited to just 35.3 percent (12-of-34) during the half.
But, in addition to the free throw discrepancy, 13 second half turnovers ended hopes for the Blue Raiders' first win of the season. Lindsey Wilson ended the night with 21 turnovers.
