Box Score 2 COLUMBIA, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson tennis teams won four out of five matches this weekend.
The men's team defeated No. 14-ranked Shorter (Ga.) College 6-0 on Thursday. The Blue Raiders swept all three doubles matches before taking the first three singles matches. The final three singles matches were not played as Lindsey Wilson already won the team match.
On Sunday, the No. 8 Blue Raiders shutout their second straight ranked opponent 9-0 in No. 20 Lewis and Clark State (Idaho) College. Lindsey Wilson swept the doubles matches and did not lose a set in singles play.
The men's team now stands at 9-1this season.
The women lost their first match of the season 3-5 to No. 6 Shorter on Thursday. Shorter won all three doubles matches and won two of five singles matches. The final match was not finished.
Lindsey Wilson rebounded with an 8-1 win over NCAA Division II Kentucky Wesleyan College. The Blue Raiders swept the doubles matches before capturing five of six singles matches. Lindsey Wilson did not lose one game in the five singles match wins.
The Blue Raider women completed the week with a 6-3 victory over No. 15 Lewis and Clark. Lindsey Wilson won two of three in doubles action before winning the top four singles matches en route to the win.
The Lindsey Wilson women are now 8-1 this season.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 2 p.m. CT on Tuesday, March 21, as the Blue Raiders visit Georgetown (Ky.) College.
