Box Score 2 COLUMBIA, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College tennis teams easily defeated the University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) and Western Kentucky University this past weekend in Columbia, Kentucky.
The women shutout Cumberlands 9-0 on Saturday. No 7 Lindsey Wilson won the first two doubles matches and the third was won by forfeit as Cumberlands could only field four student-athletes. In the four singles matches that were played, Lindsey Wilson only lost one game.
On Sunday, the Blue Raiders defeated NCAA Division I Western Kentucky 7-2. Lindsey Wilson won the first two doubles matches before dropping the No. 3 doubles match. The Blue Raiders won the top five singles matches in straight sets en route to the victory.
The Blue Raider women improve to 14-2 on the season and 3-0 in the Mid-South Conference.
For the men's team, the Blue Raiders shutout Cumberlands 9-0 on Saturday. Lindsey Wilson did not drop a set in singles action.
The No. 7 Lindsey Wilson men also defeated NCAA Division I Western Kentucky on Sunday by an 8-1 margin. The Blue Raiders swept doubles competition and did not lose a set in the top five singles matches.
The men's team is now 13-2 overall and 3-0 in Mid-South competition.
Lindsey Wilson returns to the courts at 12:00 p.m. CT as the Blue Raiders face Pikeville (Ky.) College in MSC action on Tuesday, April 11 in Prestonsburg, Kentucky.
