COLUMBIA, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College men's and women's cross country teams each finished second at the Berea (Ky.) College Invitational on Saturday in Berea, Kentucky.
Lindsey Wilson freshman Stellah Sang and junior
Emmanuel Isanda each finished first in their respective race to help lead the Blue Raiders to the second place finishes.
In the women's race, Lindsey Wilson and Georgetown (Ky.) College tied for first with 38 points each. Georgetown was awarded the team win after its sixth runner finished 15th, eight places ahead of Lindsey Wilson's sixth place runner.
Sang wins her second straight race finishing the 5,000 meters in 18 minutes and 58 seconds. Georgetown's Britney Chesser finished second with a time of 20:08.
Lindsey Wilson freshman Monicah Maiyo finished third with a time of 20:47. Senior Meagan Crouse (21:11) and sophomore Cassie Niersel (21:14) finished seventh and eighth respectively to give the Blue Raiders four runners in the top-10.
Freshman Amanda Johnson finished 19th with a time of 24:37 to round out the five-person team.
Junior Amber Cannon (25:23) and freshman Jessica Warren (25:32) finished 23rd and 25th as Lindsey Wilson individuals.
In the men's race, Lindsey Wilson places a pair in the top-10 to score 65 points and finish second behind winner Berea who finished with 37 points.
Isanda wins his first race of the season with a time of 27:22 over the 8,000 meters. Sophomore Kojo Hashiyama finished third with a time of 28:11, while freshman
Drake Midgett finished just outside the top-10 with an 11th place finish with a time of 29:50.
Freshman Shelby Gribbins (32:21) and senior
John Kalz (33:02) finished 23rd and 27th respectively to found out the Blue Raider finishers.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action on Saturday, September 30, as the Blue Raiders travel to the Greater Louisville Classic in Louisville, Kentucky.
