WILMINGTON, Ohio -- The Lindsey Wilson College men's cross country team finished seventh today and freshman David Mutuse captured the individual title at the Wilmington (Ohio) College Fall Classic.
The Blue Raiders scored 199 points to finish in seventh in the 20-team meet. Shawnee State (Ohio) University captured the team title with 57 team points.
Mutuse won the 215-man event with a course record 25 minutes and 11 seconds over the 8,000 meters. The win is Mutuse's second of the season. He also won at Berea (Ky.) College.
Freshman Christopher Kipchirchir finished 15th with a time 26:09 to earn the Blue Raiders 15 points toward the team total.
Junior Koji Hashiyama earned 23 points for his 24th place finish with a time of 26:26 and freshman Aaron Rousseau (28:28) finished 95th to earn 74 points. Junior Caleb LaFond (29:07) finished the Blue Raider scoring with 86 points for his 117th place finish.
Freshmen Bradley Bilbro (30:27) and Silas Kosgey (32:14) rounds out the non-scoring Blue Raiders. The duo finished 164th and 189th respectively.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 10 a.m. CT on Saturday, October 20, as the Blue Raiders travel to the Southeastern Classic.
