ROME, Ga. -- The Lindsey Wilson College women's golf team climbed three spots to finish sixth at the Stonebridge Invitational hosted by Berry (Ga.) College at Stonebridge Golf Club.

After their highest round of the fall season on Monday's first round (334), the Blue Raiders bounced back with a team-total 318 on Tuesday over the 5,815-yard, par-72 Stonebridge course.

Lindsey Wilson finished tied for sixth with a team-total of 652.

Shorter (Ga.) College won the event with a team-total of 620 (309-311), two shots better than host Berry (Ga.) College (309-313). Southern Nazarene (Okla.) University (635) finished fourth and Seminole Community College (636) finished fifth.

University of Mobile (Ala.) tied Lindsey Wilson for sixth.

Eighteen teams and 104 players participated in the event.

Lindsey Wilson sophomore Krista Burton led the Blue Raiders with a tie for 17th after shooting a two-day total of 160 (85-75). Sophomore Cheslee Elkins finished tied for 24th with a 162 (80-82) and senior Jessica Robertson ended in a tie for 29th with a 163 (85-78).

Senior Beth Cooper shot a 167 (84-83) to tie for 39th and freshman Chelsey Key shot a 171 (88-83) to tie for 49th. Junior Aline Decker -- playing as an individual -- tied for 21st with a 161 (84-77).

Shorter's Daniela Vargas won the tournament with a 141 (68-73) by eight strokes over Berry's Amy Goble (73-76).

The Stonebridge Invitational ends the Blue Raiders fall season. Lindsey Wilson returns to action in the late March for the spring season.
