Box Score BARBOURVILLE, Ky. -- Union (Ky.) College used a 14-0 run midway through the second half today to come-from-behind and beat the No. 25-ranked Lindsey Wilson College women's basketball team 80-76.
Union (3-3) scored 23 points off 24 Blue Raider turnovers. The Lady Bulldogs also connected on 47 percent (9-of-19) three-pointers compared to Lindsey Wilson's 2-of-11 from the perimeter.
Lindsey Wilson (4-2) led 60-51 with 10:30 remaining before the Lady Bulldogs scored the next 14 points to take a 65-60 lead with 6:58 left. Union extended its lead to eight (73-65) with 4:03 remaining before the Blue Raiders made their final run.
Lindsey Wilson scored 11 of the next 14 points, the final two on a pair of senior guard Krystal Jackson free throws with 13 seconds left to tie the game at 76-76.
But Union's Allison Fowler scored with three seconds left to give the Lady Bulldogs the lead for good and the win.
The final Lindsey Wilson miscue resulted in a pair of free throws from Union Brooke Smith and the 80-76 upset win.
The Blue Raiders lost despite shooting 57 percent (28-of-49) from the field and out-rebounding Union 41-29. But Lindsey Wilson could not overcome being outscored 21 points from the outside and the 24 giveaways.
Lindsey Wilson senior forward Moneta Anderson led the Blue Raiders with 16 points. Jackson chipped in 15.
Smith led all scores with 30 points. Fowler added 18.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 7:30 p.m. CT on Friday, November 23, as the Blue Raiders host McKendree (Ill.) College at Biggers Sports Center.
