Box Score

COLUMBIA, Ky. -- McKendree (Ill.) University junior Kelsey Park made a pair of free throws with 2.3 seconds left in double overtime to secure an 85-83 win over the Lindsey Wilson College women's basketball team tonight at Biggers Sports Center.

Five Blue Raiders recorded double figures, but it wasn't enough as McKendree freshman Ashley Agee poured in 30 points to lead the Bearcats to the win.

After sprinting to a nine point (51-42) second half lead, the Blue Raiders looked to have the game in control midway through the second half.

But McKendree scored 17 of the next 26 points to tie the game at 59-59 with 5:55 left in regulation. The Bearcats continued their offensive surge to take a 67-61 lead with 1:24 remaining.

Lindsey Wilson senior Kara Osterfeld scored and was fouled with 53 seconds to climb within a point.

After each team missed chances to add to their score, the Blue Raiders were forced to foul Agee with 15 seconds left in regulation. Agee made both freebies to give the Bearcats the 69-66 lead.

Osterfeld tied the game in dramatic fashion with a three pointer from the top of the key as time expired to send the game into the first overtime.

Lindsey Wilson scored the first four points in the first overtime and led 75-71 with 2:44 left.

But Agee and junior Emily Best scored baskets in the final minutes to send the game to a second overtime tied at 75-75.

McKendree controlled much of the second overtime, leading 81-78 midway through the overtime.

Lindsey Wilson senior Terran Duncan and junior Ewa Bukowska each connected on one of two free throws to cut the Bearcat lead to 81-80 with 1:34 left.

McKendree senior Heather Elders scored two of her 15 points to put the Bearcats back on top by three at 83-80 with 12 seconds remaining. Elders added 12 rebounds for a double-double.

Lindsey Wilson senior Moneta Anderson hit her only three pointer of the season with 7.4 seconds left to tie the game for the ninth time.

Park connected on two free throws five seconds later after being fouled on a lay-up attempt to give the Bearcats the 85-83 lead.

Bukowska's mid-court shot fell short as time expired.

Lindsey Wilson -- who shot better from three point range (39.1 percent) than inside the arc -- struggled from the field in a game that featured nine ties and 14 lead changes. The Blue Raiders shot just 38.8 percent (31-of-80) from the field. McKendree made 47.3 percent (35-of-74) of its shots.

Duncan and Osterfeld led the Blue Raiders with 17 points each. Anderson added 12 and seniors Krystal Jackson and Beonka Weems chipped in 10 each.

McKendree junior Emily Best joins Agee and Elders in double figures with 14 points.

Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 7 p.m. CT on Tuesday, Nov. 27, as the Blue Raiders travel to Oakland City (Ind.) University.
