LAKE WALES, Fla. -- The Lindsey Wilson College women's basketball team beat Bryan (Tenn.) College 66-45 tonight in the opening round of the Warner Southern (Fla.) College Hampton Inn Tournament.

Lindsey Wilson (7-7) erased an eight-point first half deficit to advance to Friday's semifinals against Cedarville (Ohio) University (5-4). Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m. CT.

The Blue Raiders used runs of 12-2 and 15-2 in the second half to sprint to the 21-point win. After leading 29-25 at the break, the Lindsey Wilson defense sparked the runs and put the game out of reach.

Bryan connected on half (9-of-18) their shots in the opening half, but were limited to just 22.2 percent (6-of-27) shooting in the second half. Bryan finished hitting 33.3 percent from the field and committed 27 turnovers in the loss.

While the Blue Raider defense put the clamps on Bryan, the Lindsey Wilson offense made 42.1 percent (24-of-57) of its shots, including 6-for-12 three-pointers.

Lindsey Wilson senior guard Kera Gibson led the outside attack making four three-pointers en route to 12 points.

Gibson was aided by stellar play off the Lindsey Wilson bench.

Senior forward Moneta Anderson led the reserves with 17 points and 11 rebounds. Anderson made half of her 12 shots and 5-of-7 free throws.

Lindsey Wilson also dominated the boards with a 39-27 rebounding advantage.

Bryan forward Courtney Swanson led her team with 12 points.

In the first half, Lindsey Wilson used an 18-4 run to turn an eight-point deficit into a lead the Blue Raiders would not relinquish.
