Women's Basketball Sprints Past Cedarville 84-68

LAKE WALES, Fla. -- A quartet of Lindsey Wilson College women's basketball players scored double figures to lead the Blue Raiders into the Warner Southern (Fla.) College Hampton Inn Tournament finals with an 84-68 win over Cedarville (Ohio) University tonight at Turner Athletic Center.

The Blue Raiders (8-7) face Indiana Wesleyan University in Saturday's finals. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. CT.
Lindsey Wilson senior center Terran Duncan helped the Blue Raiders out of the gate, scoring her team's first eight points. The Blue Raiders led 15-7 at the 13:55 mark before Cedarville used a 5-0 spurt to climb within three points.

The two teams traded baskets as Lindsey Wilson led 20-17 with 11 minutes left.

Lindsey Wilson scored 14 of the next 17 points over the next six minutes to sprint to a 34-20 lead. The Blue Raiders maintained the double digit lead the remainder of the game.

Senior guard Kera Gibson led the Lindsey Wilson run with two of her career-high six three-pointers. Gibson tied a career-high with 18 points. Gibson added another long-range shot in the half's final minute to help the Blue Raiders lead 46-31 at the break.

In the second half, Lindsey Wilson extended its lead to as many as 24 points on two occasions and coasted to the 84-68 win.

Lindsey Wilson hit a season-best 53.3 percent (8-of-15) from beyond the three-point arc. The Blue Raider interior did their part as well, out-rebounding the Lady Jackets 45-29. Lindsey Wilson grabbed 25 offensive rebounds which led to 22 second chance points.

Duncan scored a game-high 19 points on 8-of-13 shooting from the field. Freshman center Viktoria Krell added 14 points and 10 rebounds and senior forward Kara Osterfeld chipped in 12 points.

Cedarville's Rachel Hurley led the Lady Jackets with 12 points off the bench. Lady Jacket guard Alison Lemon added 11 points.

Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 7 p.m. CT on Saturday against the 2006-07 NAIA Division II national champions Indiana Wesleyan. The Wildcats (15-0) enter the game on a 53-game winning streak.
