Box Score CAMPBELLVILLE, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College women's basketball team struggled on both ends of the court tonight as Shawnee State (Ohio) University beat the Blue Raiders 73-50 at the Citizens Bank Classic hosted by Campbellsville (Ky.) University.
Lindsey Wilson failed to find consistency on the offensive end against a packed-in Shawnee State zone. The Blue Raiders (5-6) hit just 34.5 percent (20-of-58) from the field en route to their second straight loss and fifth in six games.
The Bears frustrated the LWC interior with the zone, limiting senior center Terran Duncan just eight shots for the game. Despite her limited touches, Duncan tied for game-high honors with a hard-fought 16 points.
Lindsey Wilson was unable to shoot the No. 19-ranked Bears out of the zone, making just 3-of-15 shots beyond the three-point arc.
Shawnee State also out-rebounded the Blue Raiders 39-35, becoming the first team this season to best Lindsey Wilson on the boards. The Blue Raiders compounded their offensive woes with 17 turnovers which the Bears turned into 13 points.
While Shawnee State (8-1) frustrated the Blue Raider offense, the Bears used the potent inside attack of sophomore center Alison Meyer and the outside threat of sophomore guard Mallory Albers for their seventh straight win.
Meyer connected on 6-of-9 shots in the paint for a game-high 16 points, while Albers hit three of the Bears' eight three-pointers en route to 15 points.
The Bears ended shooting 46.6 percent (27-of-58) from the field and 38.1 percent (8-of-21) from three-point range.
Lindsey Wilson senior forward Beonka Weems joined Duncan in double figures with 10 points.
