Box Score COLUMBIA, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson women's basketball team claimed at least a share of the Mid-South Conference regular-season title tonight with an 81-56 win over Pikeville (Ky.) College at Biggers Sports Center.

With the win, the Blue Raiders earn the program's first top seed in next week's Mid-South Conference Tournament, which begins on Friday, March 2, in Frankfort, Ky. The title game is on Sunday, March 4.
The Blue Raiders also swept their MSC home schedule for the first time since joining the league in 2000.

The Blue Raiders (14-15, 8-1 in the MSC) used a 14-0 run four minutes into the game to build an 18-5 lead.

Pikeville cut the Blue Raider lead to single digits just once over the final 30 minutes when Alice Daniel hit one of her three three-pointers to trim the score to 25-16.

The Blue Raiders pushed the lead to double digits on their next possession and kept it there the rest of the game.

After leading 39-28 at the break, the Blue Raiders extended the lead to 16 points (59-43) midway through the second half.

Lindsey Wilson -- who led by as many as 26 points -- led 62-47 with 9:12 left and then used a 9-0 run over the next three minutes to help clinch at least a share of the MSC regular-season title.

Lindsey Wilson forced the Lady Bears (8-21, 0-9) into 17 miscues on the night, which led to 22 Blue Raider points.

The Blue Raiders also limited the Pikeville to 33.9 percent (19-of-56) shooting and 27.8 percent (5-of-18) from three-point range.

Lindsey Wilson junior forward Terran Duncan lead the Blue Raiders with a game-high 22 points and 8 rebounds.

Seniors Tiffany Reid and Shola Aladejebi ended their Biggers Sports Center career with a combined 30 points and 10 rebounds.

Pikeville senior Tonya Amburgey led the Bears with 18 points, and freshman Whitney Hogg contributed 12 points.

Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 1 p.m. CST on Saturday, Feb. 24, as they travel to Georgetown (Ky.) College.
