Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Glasgow, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College men's and women's tennis teams opened up the Lindsey Wilson Quad with victories on Friday.

The No. 18-ranked Lindsey Wilson College men's team defeated the University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) 6-2 on Friday in a match scheduled for Saturday.
Lindsey Wilson improves to 2-0 overall, and the Cumberlands falls to 2-7 on the season.

The No. 24-ranked Lindsey Wilson College women's tennis team defeated Bellarmine (Ky.) University 8-1 and the University of the Cumberlands 9-0 at Gorin Park in Glasgow, Ky.

Sophomores Natalia Yakimovich and Fadzai Mawisire each completed the day with 2-0 records in singles matches and combined in doubles for a 2-0 record on the day.

Yakimovich, a Minsk, Belarus, native, defeated Bellarmine's ace Sarah Ruebker 6-1, 6-0 and Cumberlands ace Juliana Negosek 6-0, 6-0 in singles.

Mawisire, a Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, native, defeated Bellarmine's Abby Showalter 6-0, 6-2, and Cumberlands' Mary Ngiam 6-1, 6-0 in singles.

Yakimovich and Mawisire teamed up in doubles to defeat Ballarmine's Roebker and Elizabeth Bohnert 8-0, and the Cumberlands Negosek and Jessica Lowry 8-0.

Lindsey Wilson improves to 3-0 on the season while Bellarmine falls to 6-3 and Cumberlands falls to 1-6 overall.

Saturday's matches against Freed-Hardeman (Tenn.) University were postponed due to rain and will be rescheduled.

The Blue Raiders return to action on Sunday, March 11, as they host Benedictine (Ks.) College in the final day of the Lindsey Wilson Quad at Gorin Park.
