GEORGETOWN, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College women's golf team won their third straight NAIA Region XI championship today at Cherry Blossom Golf Club.
The No. 3-ranked Blue Raiders earn the automatic bid into next month's NAIA National Championship after shooting a two-day team-total of 638 (324-314).
Lindsey Wilson also captured its third straight Mid-South Conference Tournament title as the two tournaments were played concurrently over the 5,813-yard, par 72 Cherry Blossom course.
No. 22-ranked Trevecca Nazarene (Tenn.) University finished second with a team-total of 683 (353-330) and host Georgetown (Ky.) College finished third with a 689 (346-343).
Campbellsville (Ky.) University's 704 (353-351) and Bethel (Tenn.) College's 708 (361-347) rounds out the top-five.
Lindsey Wilson freshman
Krista Burton won the region medalist with a two-day total of 155 (77-78).
For Burton, a Russell Springs, Ky., native, the win is her sixth straight of the season.
Lindsey Wilson sophomore
Aline Decker finished second with a two-day total of 158 (81-77) and freshman Cheslee Elkins ended in third with a 160 (80-80).
Junior
Beth Cooper finished in sixth with a 165 (86-79) and junior
Jessica Robertson ended in a ninth place tie with a 170 (89-81).
Freshman
Cecilee Harlan -- playing as an individual -- finished in 12th with a 171 (89-82).
Burton, Decker, Elkins, Cooper, Georgetown's Natalie Brown (161) and Trevecca Nazarene's Mindy Seigenthaler (164) were all named to the all-region team.
Following the tournament, the Mid-South Conference schools gathered for their annual banquet where Elkins was named MSC Women's Golfer of the Year.
Elkins, a Greensburg, Ky., native, earned the award based on her cumulative total from the six official conference rounds during the fall, spring and postseason tournaments.
Joining Elkins on the all-conference team is Cooper, Robertson and Decker.

Stacy McClain were named MSC Academic All-Conference for maintaining a 3.25 grade point average or above and being a sophomore standing or above.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action on Tuesday, May 15, in the first round of the NAIA National Championship at Lake San Marcos Country Club in Lake San Marcos, Calif.
