Box Score MOBILE, Ala. -- The Lindsey Wilson College men's and women's tennis teams advanced into the NAIA National Tournament's quarterfinals with second-round wins today at the Mobile Tennis Center.
The fourth-seeded Lindsey Wilson women beat unseeded Union (Ky.) College 5-0 to advance into the final eight against fifth-seeded Vanguard (Calif.) University on Wednesday.
The eighth-seeded Blue Raider men needed a come-from-behind effort to beat unseeded Point Loma Nazarene (Calif.) University 5-4. The Lindsey Wilson men will face top-seeded Auburn University-Montgomery on Wednesday.
In the women's match, Lindsey Wilson won all three doubles' points to take a 3-0 lead after doubles action.
LWC sophomores Natalie Yakimovich and Fadzai Mawisire -- who teamed in doubles play to win 8-2 -- closed out the match with wins at No. 1 and No. 2 singles.
The remainder of the matches were stopped after the Blue Raiders reached the five-point total.
