Women's Tennis Marches into National Semifinal, Men Fall in Quarterfinals

Box Score MOBILE, Ala. -- The Lindsey Wilson College women's tennis team advanced into the national semifinals for the second straight year with a 5-2 win over Vanguard (Calif.) University at the Mobile Tennis Center.

The No. 4-seed Blue Raiders face top-seeded and defending national champion Auburn University-Montgomery at 1 p.m. CDT on Thursday.

The Lindsey Wilson men fell 5-1 in the national quarterfinals today to top-seeded AUM.In the women's match, Lindsey Wilson (19-4) won two of the three points in doubles and closed out the match winning three of four singles points en route to the 5-2 win. The remainder of the matches were stopped after Lindsey Wilson reached the five-point total.

The Blue Raiders face AUM (27-1) for the second straight year in the national semifinals. The Lady Senators beat Lindsey Wilson 5-2 in 2006.

The Lindsey Wilson men's season ended today with a 5-1 loss to AUM.

The Blue Raiders managed to take one of the three doubles points before losing three singles' matches. The remainder of the matches were halted.

Lindsey Wilson finishes its season with a 15-6 record.
