Box Score COLUMBIA, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College women's basketball team scored 16 straight points midway through the second half to blow open a close game and beat visiting Brescia (Ky.) University 86-65 on Thursday night at Biggers Sports Center.
Leading 63-59 with 9:06 left, five different players scored over the next four minutes to lead the Blue Raiders (10-8) on their decisive run.
Senior guard Kera Gibson hit a pair of three-pointers to lead the charge. Gibson, a Henderson, Ky., native, made five three-pointers and scored 15 points in the win.
At the end of the run Lindsey Wilson led 79-59 and coasted to an 86-65 win.
The Blue Raiders played one of their most complete offensive games of the season to win their fifth game in six tries. Lindsey Wilson dominated the interior led by senior forward Terran Duncan and freshman center Viktoria Krell.
Krell finished making 8-of-11 from the field to help the Blue Raiders convert 54 percent (34-of-63) from the field. Krell finished with a career-high 19 points. Duncan added 13 points inside.
Senior forward Moneta Anderson chipped in 10 points off the bench to give the Blue Raiders four players in double figures.
Gibson led the outside attack for Lindsey Wilson. The Blue Raiders made 7-of-17 three-pointers (41.2 percent) to open up the interior.
Brescia finished shooting 46.6 percent ((27-of-58) from the field in the loss.
Brescia senior guard Danielle Jenkins led the Bearcats with 18 points. Junior guard Paula Carver added 12 points in the loss.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 6 p.m. CT on Wednesday, January 16, as the Blue Raiders host Oakland City (Ind.) University at Biggers Sports Center.
