KENOSHA, Wis. -- Three Lindsey Wilson College men's cross country individuals competedin the 53rd NAIA National Championships today at the Wayne E. Dannehl Cross Country Course.
Lindsey Wilson sophomore David Mutuse led the Blue Raiders with a 99th place finish in the 331-man field. Mutuse completed the 8,000 meter course in 26 minutes.
Senior Koji Hashiyama finished 206th with a time of 27:03 and sophomore Christopher Kipchirchir ended in 244th with a time of 27:30.
Azusa Pacific (Calif.) University Aron Rono won the individual national championship with a time of 23:45. Malone (Ohio) College captured its second straight team title with 61 points.
Prior to the national championship, senior Caleb LaFond was named a 2008 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athlete. LaFond earned the honor reserved for juniors and seniors with a 3.50 grade point average on a 4.0 scale.
