BEREA, Ky. - The Lindsey Wilson College men's cross country team was led by sophomore David Mutuse's first place finish and scored 34 points to finish second in the Mid-South Conference Championships today in Berea, Ky.
Mutuse was the top individual finisher with a time of 25:59. The first place finish is the fifth of his career.
However with the Blue Raiders finishing second as a team they did not qualify for the NAIA National Tournament.
Cumberlands (Ky.) University won the event with 27 points.
Lindsey Wilson had five runners finish in the top 11 including Mutuse. Sophomore Christopher Kipchirchir (27:09) and senior Koji Hashiyama (27:32) finished fifth and seventh respectively.
Sophomore Brad Bilbro edged out freshman Philip Borisei by one second to claim 10th place, Borisei finished 11th.
The Blue Raiders finished the season placing in the top five in five of their six races, including three top three finishes.
