BARDSTOWN, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College women's golf team captured their first win of the spring season after today's final round of the Campbellsville (Ky.) University Spring Invitational was canceled due to heavy rains at Bardstown Country Club at Maywood.
The Blue Raiders -- who shot a 336 in Thursday's opening round -- won the event by 20 strokes over host Campbellsville.
Lindsey Wilson senior Beth Cooper earned medalist honors following a 79 on Thursday. The win is Cooper's first of the season and sixth of her career.
Lindsey Wilson senior Jessica Robertson (84) and sophomore Cheslee Elkins (85), Georgetown (Ky.) College's Tiffany Samborsky (84), Campbellsville's Kaela Smith (85) and University of St. Francis' (Ind.) Hillary Bowman (86) all joined Cooper on the all-tournament team.
The Blue Raiders return to action on Monday, April 7, as Lindsey Wilson travels to the University of Cumberlands (Ky.) Spring Invitational at Crooked Creek Golf Club in London, Ky.
Lindsey Wilson's scheduled tournament at Georgetown on March 31-April 1 has been postponed and will be made-up April 22-23 at Cherry Blossom Golf Course.
