LONDON, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College women's golf team won the 2008 University of Cumberlands (Ky.) Spring Invitational today at Crooked Creek Golf Club.

The No. 6-ranked Blue Raiders shot a team-total of 340 over the 5,989-yard, par 73 layout. No. 21-ranked Georgetown (Ky.) College finished second in the eight-team field with a 347 while Campbellsville (Ky.) University ended in third with a 363.

Lindsey Wilson sophomore Jessica Smith captured the individual tournament title in her first tournament as a Blue Raider. The Louisville, Ky., native, -- playing as an individual -- shot a two-over par 75 to win by five strokes over Georgetown's Natalie Brown (80).

Lindsey Wilson senior Beth Cooper and Tennessee Wesleyan College's Megan Cox tied for third with an 82. Cumberlands Kayla Peace ended in fifth with an 84 and Lindsey Wilson sophomore Krista Burton and Brescia (Ky.) University's Gabrielle Murphy finished tied for sixth with 85's.

The top seven finishers were named to the all-tournament team.

Lindsey Wilson sophomore Cheslee Elkins tied for eighth with an 86 while freshman Chelsey Key (87) finished tied for 11th and senior Jessica Robertson (89) finished tied for 14th to round out the Blue Raider team. Junior Aline Decker -- playing as an individual -- finished 21st in the 45-woman field with a 93.
