DANVILLE, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College men's cross country team opened their season on Saturday with a second place finish at the Centre (Ky.) College Invitational.
The Blue Raiders finished with 59 points finishing behind host Centre's 28 points.
Lindsey Wilson sophomore David Mutuse led the Blue Raider harriers with a second place finish. Mutuse ran the 8,000 meter course in 27 minutes 34.95 seconds to finish 22 seconds behind the individual winner.
Sophomore Christopher Kipchirchir finished fourth with a time 28:00.91 and senior Koji Hashiyama ended in fifth with a time of 28:07.43.
Sophomore Bradley Bilbro finished the course in a time of 30:41.10 for a 19th place finish and freshman John Anderson crossed the line in 35th place with a time of 32:49.30. Senior Caleb LaFond (34:53.79) and freshman Evan Crowdus (36:32.64) finished 51st and 69th respectively to complete the Lindsey Wilson team.
Centre senior Chase Wilson won the event with a 27:12.67. Centre ended the day with five of the top nine times to capture the win.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action on Saturday, Sept. 20, as the Blue Raiders travel to Berea (Ky.) College in Berea, Ky.
