BURKESVILLE, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College women's golf team captured their first tournament title of the season on Tuesday at the Mid-South Conference Fall Tournament at Dale Hollow State Park Golf Course.
Lindsey Wilson shot a two-round total of 637 (318-319) to win the tournament by 49 strokes. Campbellsville (Ky.) University finished second with a 686 (334-352).
Lindsey Wilson junior Krista Burton won the women's individual title, her second straight medalist finish. Burton fired a seven-over par 151 (75-76) to win by four strokes over Lee (Tenn.) University's Rachel Ingram (75-80).
Junior Jessica Smith (81-77) and sophomore Chelsey Key (79-79) finished tied for third with 158s. The pair joined Burton on the six-woman all-tournament team.
Senior Aline Decker finished tied for 11th with a two-day total of 170 (83-87) and junior Tracy McClain ended in 35th in the 40-woman field with a 229 (121-108).
Lindsey Wilson returns to action on Oct. 2-3 as the Blue Raiders travel to the Campbellsville University Fall Invitational at Campbellsville Country Club.
