Women's Basketball Receives Votes in the Latest NAIA National Poll

COLUMBIA, Ky. - The Lindsey Wilson College women's basketball team dropped out of the top 25 in the NAIA National Coaches' Poll after losing to No. 13- ranked Campbellsville (Ky.) University and No. 10-ranked University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) last week.

Lindsey Wilson (15-6, 1-2) is one spot outside of the top 25 receiving 57 points in the NAIA Division I Poll.

Union (Tenn.) University (19-1) grabbed the top spot with 312 points and all 12 first place votes. Vanguard (Calif.) University (16-2) claimed the second spot with 302 points and Trevecca Nazarene (Tenn.) University (18-1) rounded out the top three with 292 points.

The Blue Raiders lost their first game of the week to longtime rival Campbellsville 65-55 on Thursday night. Junior guard Sierra Rambert scored a team-high 14 points. Sophomore center Viktoria Krell recorded a double-double scoring 14 points and pulling down 13 rebounds in the loss.

Lindsey Wilson lost its second road game of the week 79-64 as they traveled to Cumberlands on Saturday. Rambert had a game-high 22 points and Krell recorded her second double-double of the week scoring 21 points and grabbing 12 rebounds in defeat.

Krell leads Lindsey Wilson in points per game (17.4), rebounds per game (10.3) and free throw percentage (72.1). Rambert is second on the team averaging 15.8 points per game and is second on the team with 34 steals.

Lindsey Wilson sophomore guard Diondra Anthony has dished out a team high 82 assists and sophomore forward Bethany Spillman is second on the team in rebounding grabbing 6.1 per game.

The NAIA National Coaches' Poll is voted on by the 12 conference raters.

Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 6 p.m. CT on Thursday, Jan. 29, as the Blue Raiders host West Virginia University Institute of Technology at Biggers Sports Center.
