Box Score COLUMBIA, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College women's basketball team held West Virginia University Institute of Technology to six first half points en route to a 66-31 victory tonight at Biggers Sports Center.
Lindsey Wilson (16-6, 2-2 in the Mid-South Conference) outscored West Virginia Tech. (2-17, 0-4) 33-6 in the first half holding the Golden Bears to 16.7 percent (2-of-12) shooting from the floor. The Blue Raiders allowed only 11 made baskets the entire game.
The Blue Raiders opened the game scoring 20 of the first 23 points and never looked back. Sophomore forward Bethany Spillman led the attack with half of her 14 points during the opening minutes to put the game out of reach early.
Lindsey Wilson cruised in the second half leading by as many 37 points after the break en route to the win.
Sophomore center Viktoria Krell scored a team-high 16 points. Krell also added nine rebounds and four steals. Junior guard Sierra Rambert joined Spillman and Krell in double figures with 12 points.
Junior reserve guard Sabrina Manning hit back-to-back three pointers off the bench to help the Lindsey Wilson bench outscore their counterparts 18-0.
West Virginia Tech sophomore guard Ashley Blaney finished with a team-high 16 points.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 2 p.m. CT on Saturday, Jan. 31 in the first game of a double-header against Georgetown (Ky.) College at Biggers Sports Center.
