NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Lindsey Wilson College women's golf team concluded its fall season today winning the Trevecca Nazarene (Tenn.) University Invitational at Old Hickory Country Club.
The Blue Raiders rebounded off Monday's season-high 324 to shoot a team total of 311 today for a two-day total of 635 over the 5,804 yard, par 72 course. Lindsey Wilson captured its fourth tournament win of the fall beating second place Lindenwood (Mo.) University (326-330) by 21 strokes.
University of the Cumberlands -- who began the day tied for second with Lindenwood and two strokes back of the Blue Raiders -- finished third with a 659 (326-333). Host Trevecca Nazarene finished fourth with a 661 (331-330) and University of Mobile finished fifth with a 670 (335-335).
Lindsey Wilson junior Chelsey Key finished third overall and senior Krista Burton fourth in the 37-woman field. The pair earned all-tournament honors for their play during the event. Joining the Lindsey Wilson pair on the all-tournament team was medalist Maegan Rice (150) and Taylor Kirby (153) of Mobile, Cumberlands' McKinzie Price (156) and Trevecca Nazarene's Betsy Beaver (158).
Key used a pair of birdies on the par 5 ninth and the par 4 13th to propel her to a three-over par 75 in today's round. She finished the tournament with a two-day total 155 (80-75). The Lafayette, Tenn., native, finished the tournament in a three-way tie for the most individual birdies (5).
Burton struggled out of the gates bogeying four of her first six holes. But the Jamestown, Ky., native, played the final 12 holes in one-under par to match Key's 75 for Tuesday's low round. Burton concluded the tournament with a 156 (81-75).
Lindsey Wilson freshman 
Kelsey Joslyn recorded her best finish of the season with an eighth place following a 160 (81-79). The Danville, Ky., native, birdied the eighth and ninth holes to help the Blue Raiders finish with a tournament-best 17 team birdies.
   
Senior Jessica Smith finished 13th after a 164 (82-82) and senior Cheslee Stone ended tied for 15th with a 168 (84-84). Freshman Jennifer MacKinnon -- playing as an individual -- finished tied for 31st with a 181 (89-92).
Lindsey Wilson concludes its fall schedule winning four of five tournaments and finishing with a 311.3 scoring average. The Blue Raiders begin their spring season in March, 2010.
