PIKEVILLE, Ky. -- The Pikeville (Ky.) College women's basketball team trimmed a 19-point halftime deficit down to six points down the stretch but was undone by 21 turnovers to just 10 assists as Lindsey Wilson College held on for the 76-69 win on Saturday.

Viktoria Krell tied her career high with 30 points and hauled in 15 rebounds to lead the Blue Raiders. Her partner in the post, Lindsey Waters, added 14 points and six rebounds.

Four players paced the Lady Bears in double figures as Whitney Compton led the way with 19 points, followed by Megan Mosley with 14, Meagan Johnson scoring 12 and Natiera Hinton tallying 10 points.

A blistering shooting performance by Lindsey Wilson (11-5, 1-1 MSC) helped it build the large lead in the first half as it shot 63 percent from the field, including a 50 percent clip from three point range. The hot shooting disappeared in the second half as the Blue Raiders dropped to just 35 percent from the field.

Pikeville (12-6, 0-2 MSC) outscored the Blue Raiders 41-29 in the second half and had a chance to cut the lead to three with just under 30 seconds to play, but the deep three from Jalisa Jones rolled off the front end of the rim to allow Lindsey Wilson to hold on for the win.

The Blue Raiders outrebounded Pikeville 39-32, while both teams dished out 10 assists. Lindsey Wilson finished the game shooting 51.1 percent (24-of-47) from the field, while Pikeville registered a 42.6 percentage (26-of-61). Both teams shot well from behind the arc as the Blue Raiders shot 37.5 percent and the Lady Bears knocked down 36.8 percent of their threes.

Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 6 p.m. CT on Jan. 21 against Campbellsville (Ky.) University at Biggers Sports Center.
