Box Score COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Sierra Rambert scored 15 points, grabbed six rebounds and dished out three assists, but it was not enough for Lindsey Wilson College as 13th ranked University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) won 60-51 on Saturday at Biggers Sports Center.
Lindsey Wilson led 16-15 with just over seven minutes to play in the first half before the Patriots went on a 7-0 run to pull ahead 22-16. Cumberlands led the rest of the way as the Blue Raiders never got closer than three points.
The Patriots pulled ahead by as many as 15 points in the second half after Sonia Thompson knocked down a jumper in the paint to make the score 53-38. While Lindsey Wilson trailed just 26-20 at the break, a 10-0 Patriot run to start the half put the Blue Raiders out of reach for good.
Lauren Martin paced the Patriots with 18 points and six rebounds, while Stephanie Quattrociocchi added 16 points, six rebounds and four assists.
The Blue Raiders fall to 11-7 overall and 1-3 in Mid-South Conference play. Cumberlands improves to 15-5 and 4-0 in the MSC.
Lindsey Wilson shot just 37.3 percent from the field, while Cumberlands hit at a 42.9 percent clip. The Blue Raiders hit just 12.5 percent of their 3-point attempts (2-of-16). Cumberlands edged Lindsey Wilson on the boards 37-35.
The Blue Raiders return to action at 5 p.m. CT on Jan. 28 at West Virginia Tech.
