Box Score COLUMBIA, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College women's basketball team used a 10-0 run at the midway point of the first half to build a 12-point lead and never look back as it routed Olivet Nazarene (Ill.) University 98-64 on Saturday at Biggers Sports Center.
A pair of 20-point scorers led the Blue Raiders as Viktoria Krell finished with 23 points and Sierra Rambert poured in 20. Lindsey Waters added a career-high 17 points, while Diondra Anthony joined the group in double figures with 14.
The Tigers were led by Simone Coburn and Danielle Pipal with 20 and 10 points, respectively.
Olivet Nazarene (7-11) used a unique strategy of mass subs every few minutes to keep fresh players on the court to power its full-court press.
The plan worked to slow the Blue Raiders for most of the first half, until the 10-0 run broke things open. Lindsey Wilson closed the half leading by 18 points (49-31).
The Tigers would never drop the margin below 18 the rest of the way, while the Blue Raiders amassed a lead as large as 44 points late in the game.
Lindsey Wilson (10-4) shot 49.4 percent from the field, while limiting Olivet Nazarene to just 25 percent shooting. The Blue Raiders won the rebound battle as well, 61-49.
The Blue Raiders return to action at 5 p.m. CT on Jan. 14 for their conference opener at University of Rio Grande (Ohio).
