NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- The Lindsey Wilson College women's golf team captured the Trevecca Nationwide Invitational Championship hosted by Trevecca Nazarene (Tenn.) University at Old Hickory Country Club with a two-day total of 626 (316-310) strokes.
The Blue Raiders entered day two five strokes off the lead set by Lindenwood (Mo.) University in the first-round. Lindenwood, however, fired a 318 on day two, allowing the Blue Raider's 310 to secure the win.
Lindsey Wilson senior Chelsey Key led the Blue Raiders with a 152 (75-77) to finish second overall, while freshman Kaitlin Allan tied for third, finishing second on the team with a153 (77-76).
Sophomore Jennifer MacKinnon finished third on the team with a 161 (82-79) and Paola Gonzalez carded a 164 (86-78). Kelsey Joslyn rounded out the Blue Raider scores with a 165 (82-83).
Trevecca's Ashley Scism took the individual title with a 151 (75-76), while Lindenwood finished second overall with a 629 (311-318) and University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) rounded out the top three with a 631 (322-309).
Lindsey Wilson returns to action in the NAIA Women's Golf Preview at the Link Hills Country Club in Greenville, Tenn., on Oct. 25-26.
