BEREA, Ky. -- Lindsey Wilson College opened up its second season of swimming with a bang on Saturday, topping Berea (Ky.) College 92-89 to improve to 1-0 in dual meets for the 2010-11 season.
The Blue Raiders posted four national "A" cuts with Cory Hall in the 100-yard butterfly (54.76 seconds), Jonathan Hindman in the 100-breaststroke (one minute and 1.3 seconds), Troy Jobe in the 100-backstroke (56.30) and the 200-medley relay (1:43.41) team of Jobe, Hindman, Hall, and Daniel Lyle.
There were also four national "B" cuts, including Lyle's times in the 50 (22.63) and 100-freestyles (50.28), Jobe's 200-free finish (1:53.46) and in the 200-individual medley for Hindman (2:04.72).
Jordan Green posted a win in the 1,000-free with a time of 11:51.79, while Lyle was also a winner in the 50-free. Hindman tallied another win as the lone racer in the 200-IM and Hall took first place in the 100-fly.
Jobe was the winner in the 100-back, while Hall won by over 20 seconds in the 500-free. Hindman posted another big win, by more than 16 seconds over the rest of the field in the 100-breast.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 6 p.m. CT on Nov. 6 against Asbury (Ky.) College in the first home swimming meet in school history at the Holloway Center Natatorium.
