Box Score COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Ashley Rainey scored a game-high 24 points and grabbed seven rebounds and Viktoria Krell added 16 points and 12 rebounds to lead 18th ranked Lindsey Wilson College past Berea (Ky.) College 72-53 at Biggers Sports Center on Tuesday.
Shelby Romine and Elbony Inskeep led the Mountaineers with 14 and 12 points, respectively.
The Blue Raiders pulled out to a 12 point lead on a shot by Krell with six minutes to play in the first half, but an early rally by Berea at the start of the second half made things interesting for a while.
Inskeep buried a basket with 13 minutes to play in the game to bring Berea within three points, the closest they would get the rest of the game.
Lindsey Wilson got things rolling with a pair of threes from Tiffany Williams and eventually ended the game on top by 19 points - its largest lead of the game.
Both teams struggled from the field, with Berea leading the way at 48.9 percent, while the Blue Raiders managed to shoot just 42.6 percent. Lindsey Wilson did knock down 8-of-21 3-pointers for 38.1 percent as Berea hit just two threes for 25 percent.
One area Lindsey Wilson did hold a significant advantage was rebounds, 37-29. The Blue Raiders also forced the Mountaineers into 32 turnovers with just 10 assists. Lindsey Wilson finished with 20 assists - led by seven from Diondra Anthony - and 19 turnovers.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action on Nov. 26 against Missouri Baptist College in the McKendree University Classic in Lebanon, Ill.
