Box Score COLUMBIA, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College women's basketball team outscored the University of Rio Grande (Ohio) 51-13 off the bench to push past the Redstorm for a 91-69 win on Thursday at Biggers Sports Center. It is the Blue Raiders fourth straight win.
Sierra Rambert led the way out of the reserves, scoring 19 points, while fellow reserve Kasey Litzinger added 18 points on 4-for-7 shooting from 3-point range.
Jenna Smith paced Rio Grande (14-11, 5-4 MSC) with 20 points, while Bre Davis and Leah Kendro each added 14.
Lindsey Wilson (16-8, 5-4 MSC) trailed by five (8-3) with over 16 minutes left in the first half, then fought back to take a 9-8 lead after a three pointer by Litzinger and never trailed again in the game.
The Blue Raiders' largest lead grew to 24 points in the second half after Lindsey Waters knocked down a jumper in the paint. Waters finished the game with 14 points and nine rebounds playing for the first time after sitting out four games.
Rio Grande shot just 32.8 percent from the field, while Lindsey Wilson blistered the nets for a 55 percent clip. The Redstorm, however, did hit 85 percent of its free throws compared to just 58.1 percent for the Blue Raiders.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 1 p.m. CT on Saturday, Feb. 13 at the University of the Cumberlands (Ky.).
