Box Score WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. -- Despite a double-double performance of 18 points and 13 rebounds by Viktoria Krell, the Lindsey Wilson College women's basketball team couldn't overcome its 20 turnovers, allowing 13th ranked University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) to earn a 66-52 win on Saturday.
Lindsey Waters added 13 points and seven rebounds for the Blue Raiders and Diondra Anthony chipped in nine, but also committed a game-high six turnovers.
Stephanie Quattrociocchi paced the Patriots with 15 points, while Lauren Martin and Haley Ratliff each added 12 points. Ratliff finished the game 4-of-6 from three-point range.
Cumberlands outscored Lindsey Wilson 43-22 in the first half as the Blue Raiders struggled to hold on to the ball.
Offensive rebounds were also hard to come by for Lindsey Wilson while Cumberlands had no problem, grabbing 13 which led to a 12-2 advantage in second-chance points for the game.
Lindsey Wilson cut the Patriot advantage down to 12 points with two minutes to play in the first half, but let Cumberlands improve the lead by seven points down the stretch.
The Blue Raiders also closed the deficit to 12 in the second half, but couldn't sustain a rally due to their turnovers and made shots by the Patriots.
Cumberlands outshot the Blue Raiders from the field 40.3 percent to 34.0 percent. Lindsey Wilson, however, shot better from the line, 73.7 percent to 69.2 percent, while Cumberlands edged Lindsey Wilson on the boards 37-32.
