Box Score COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Diondra Anthony and Bethany Spillman each recorded a double-double to lead the Lindsey Wilson College women's basketball team past Pikeville (Ky.) College 65-61 on Saturday at Biggers Sports Center.
Spillman recorded a team-high 19 points and 10 rebounds, while Anthony added 13 points and 10 boards. Viktoria Krell finished just shy of a third double-double with 16 points and nine rebounds.
Krell moved into the No. 2 spot on the all-time rebounding list at Lindsey Wilson (14-8, 4-4 MSC) with 850 in her career.
Natiera Hinton posted a game-high 21 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Lady Bears, while Megan Mosley added 12 points.
Lindsey Wilson held Pikeville (14-10, 2-6 MSC) to single digits scoring through the first 12 minutes of the game, leading 25-9 with 7:40 to play in the first half. The Blue Raiders posted their largest lead of the game two minutes later, up by 19 (32-13).
Pikeville closed the Blue Raider advantage to 13 at halftime (40-27), then went to work chipping away at the lead until they were down by just two points (60-58) with just under three minutes to play.
Lindsey Wilson, however, went 4-for-4 from the free-throw line down the stretch to hold on to the win despite a three-pointer by Mosley that brought the Lady Bears within two again at the one-minute mark.
Lindsey Wilson shot 40.4 percent from the field for the game, while Pikeville finishes with a 34.4 percentage. Pikeville and the Blue Raiders both finished with 41 rebounds.
