Box Score 2 MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- The 21st ranked Lindsey Wilson College men's tennis team lost to second ranked Auburn University-Montgomery 5-0 and beat 13th ranked Xavier (La.) University 5-4 on Saturday during the opening day of the AUM Spring Tennis Invitational.
Auburn-Montgomery took control of the match early with three quick doubles wins, followed by a pair of decisions at No. 1 and No. 2 singles.
Freddy Luciani battled in the first set before losing to Alberto Romeo 7-5, 6-1 at No. 1, while Andrews Moraes fell to Michael Johnson 6-0, 6-2 to give AUM the win.
The Blue Raiders fared better against Xavier, starting the path towards the win with a 2-1 advantage after doubles play.
Luciani defeated Steffen Giles-Osborn in three sets at No. 1 singles (3-6, 6-3, 6-4), while Andre Santos scored a 6-4, 6-3 win against Mario Myles at No. 3. Pourin secured the win for the Blue Raiders with his 6-2, 6-4 win against Richardson at the No. 5 seed.
