Box Score WILLIAMSBURG, Ky. -- The Lindsey Wilson College men's tennis team wrapped up the Mid-South Conference regular season title on Monday with an 8-1 win over University of the Cumberlands.
The Blue Raiders (11-3, 3-0 in the MSC) captured their seventh straight regular season title with the win. Lindsey Wilson has won 33 straight MSC regular season matches and 42 conference matches overall in a row.
Lindsey Wilson has not lost to a conference foe since the 2003 season.
On Monday, the Blue Raiders jumped out to a commanding 3-0 lead following doubles play.
The top doubles team of juniors Andrews Moraes and Andre Santos defeated Cumberalnds' Oscar Pantoja and Jerrid Neeley 8-4 in the closest match of the doubles. Seniors Freddy Luciani and Justin Martin won 8-1 in No. 2 doubles and freshmen Marlon DalPont and Antoine Pourin won 8-2 No. 3 doubles.
The Blue Raiders continued their domination in singles play winning all but one match.
The lone Cumberlands (3-14, 0-3) point came when Luciani retired in No. 1 singles.
The remainder of the singles matches were decided in straight sets.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 1 p.m. CT on Thursday, April 15, as the Blue Raiders travel to Mars Hill (N.C.) College.
