Box Score COLUMBIA, Ky. -- The 14th ranked Lindsey Wilson College men's tennis team cruised to its sixth straight win on Monday, topping Indiana University Southeast 7-2 at the Lindsey Wilson tennis courts.
Lindsey Wilson improves to 8-3 on the season with the win, while the Grenadiers fall to 3-3.
At No. 3 doubles, Jared Hartney earned his first collegiate victory, teaming with Marlon DalPont for a 9-7 win. The Blue Raiders continued to sweep the doubles' points winning No. 1 8-3 with Andre Santos and Andrews Moraes. Freddy Luciani and Justin Martin finished the shutout at No. 2 with an 8-2 win.
The only losses for Lindsey Wilson came at No. 5 and No. 6 singles. Martin retired in the second set of his match at No. 5 with Tyler Blessinger with a hip pull while trailing 6-1, 2-0. Hartney lost at No. 6 singles 7-5, 6-0 to Nathan Cross.
Luciani took care of No. 1 singles 6-3, 6-3 against Matt Coomer, while Moraes cruised to a 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 2 against Adam Denney. Third singles went to Santos 6-2, 6-2 against Evan Biesterveld, while DalPont earned a 6-1, 6-1 win against Kevin Sacksteder at No. 4 singles.
Santos singles' victory was the decisive fifth win for the Blue Raiders, but both teams chose to finish out the remaining matches.
Both the men's and women's tennis teams resume action at 3 p.m. CT on Wednesday, April 7 at Campbellsville (Ky.) University.
