Box Score CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. -- While Campbellsville (Ky.) University played a spirited match with multiple close finishes, the 13th ranked Lindsey Wilson College men's tennis team held on to take a majority of the matches and record an 8-1 win on the road Wednesday.
The Tigers took their only point on the day at No.1 doubles as Enrique Rubio and Pablo Numbela edged Andrews Moraes and Andre Santos 8-6. The second seeded pair of Freddy Luciani and Justin Martin prevailed over Angel Marquez and Filip Pavlovic 8-4 for Lindsey Wilson, while Marlon DalPont and Antoine Pourin beat Terry Caven and Zac Malyon 9-7 at No. 3 doubles.
Lindsey Wilson swept all six singles matches with Luciani's 6-2, 2-6, 6-3 win over Rubio at No. 1 singles being the deciding match for the Blue Raider win.
The rest of the matches were straight-set wins for Lindsey Wilson as Moraes topped Numbela 6-3, 6-4 at No. 2, Santos beat Pavlovic 6-4, 6-4 at No. 3 and DalPont defeated Marquez 6-1, 6-4 at No. 4.
Pourin played No. 5 singles for Lindsey Wilson and defeated Malyon 6-3, 6-4, while Martin beat Caven at No. 6 singles 6-3, 6-2.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 1 p.m. CT on Thursday, April 8 against Union (Ky.) College at the Lindsey Wilson tennis courts.
