Box Score COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Two straight second-half 3-pointers helped the 15th ranked Lindsey Wilson College women's basketball team erase a halftime deficit against St. Catharine (Ky.) College en route to an 80-67 win on Saturday at Biggers Sports Center.
The Blue Raiders improve to 14-4 overall and 6-2 in the Mid-South Conference, while the Patriots drop to 8-13 overall and 3-6 in league play.
Sophomore Ashley Rainey and senior Viktoria Krell both poured in double-doubles for Lindsey Wilson. Rainey led the way with 25 points and 15 rebounds and Krell added 15 points and 15 boards.
Machera Calhoun led St. Catharine with 22 points, while Courtney Milam added 16 points and Rianne Hofstraat tallied 13 points.
It was a back-and-forth battle throughout the first half, with neither team taking any large advantages. The Patriots used a fast-paced offensive attack for easy baskets and took a 29-28 lead into halftime.
Right out of the break, however, junior Tiffany Williams and senior Diondra Anthony added a pair of quick threes to give the Blue Raiders a 34-29 lead that they never lost the rest of the way.
The Blue Raiders crushed the Patriots on the glass, 44-30, and outshot them 48.3 percent to 38.5 percent from the field.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 7 p.m. CT on Monday, Jan. 24 against Midway (Ky.) College at Biggers Sports Center.
