Box Score COLUMBIA, Ky. -- The 15th ranked Lindsey Wilson College women's basketball team hit 10 3-pointers and forced Midway (Ky.) College into 23 turnovers to surge past the Eagles 77-47 on Monday at Biggers Sports Center.
Senior Viktoria Krell led the Blue Raiders with a double-double of 18 points and 15 rebounds, while sophomore Ashley Rainey added 16 points and seven rebounds and junior Tiffany Williams scored a career-high 15 points on five 3-pointers.
Midway was led in scoring by Katie Mayes with 12 points and Sydney Napier pulled down a team-high eight boards.
Lindsey Wilson was virtually unstoppable with the way they shot the ball for the entire game. The Blue Raiders finished hitting 46.7 percent from the field and a gaudy 50.0 percent (10-of-20) from behind the arc.
Midway never got into a rhythm, losing 23 turnovers to the stifling Lindsey Wilson defense and shooting just 32.3 percent from the field and 31.3 percent on threes.
The Eagles did manage to outrebound the Blue Raiders for their only statistical advantage, 41-36.
Midways's Kayla Shull tied the game at 4-4 three minutes into the first half, but Lindsey Wilson quickly got the lead into double figures at 10 just three minutes later and never let off.
By halftime the lead was at 27 points for the Blue Raiders (44-17), which only got worse, hitting 39 points with 10 minutes to play on a three by Williams.
The Blue Raiders used the majority of the final 10 minutes getting their bench extra minutes, before finally finishing off the 30-point win.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 6 p.m. CT on Thursday, Jan. 27 against the University of Virginia's College at Wise at Biggers Sports Center.
