Box Score COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Ashley Rainey couldn't be stopped on Thursday at Biggers Sports Center, leading to a 98-62 blowout win for the 15th ranked Lindsey Wilson College women's basketball team over the University of Virginia's College at Wise.
By halftime Rainey had a double-double of 22 points and 10 rebounds before finishing with a game-high 32 points and 18 boards. Junior Tiffany Williams added a career-high 18 points and senior Viktoria Krell joined them in double figures with 13 points.
Chelsea Cluesman led UVa.-Wise as the only player in double figures with 13 points and Kristin Mullins added nine points and eight rebounds.
Lindsey Wilson never trailed in the game and built a lead as large as 17 points in the first half on a field goal by Williams. During a three-minute span early in the half, Rainey delivered six straight baskets for a quick 12 points to put the Blue Raiders in control.
Things only got worse for the Cavaliers in the second half as a pair of free throws by Taylor Lockridge in the game's final minute put the Blue Raiders ahead by 39 points.
Lindsey Wilson controlled the backboards 57-25 and hit 12 3-pointers to the Cavalier's six.
The Blue Raiders finished the game shooting 50.7 percent from the field and 52.2 percent from behind the arc while limiting UVa.-Wise to just 35.9 percent from the field.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 2 p.m. CT on Saturday, Jan. 29 against Pikeville (Ky.) College at Biggers Sports Center.
