Box Score COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Viktoria Krell and Ashley Rainey each tallied a double-double as the 15th ranked Lindsey Wilson College women's basketball team got by Pikeville (Ky.) College 72-53 on Saturday afternoon at Biggers Sports Center.
Krell scored 17 points and pulled down 14 rebounds, while Rainey finished with a game-high 24 points and 10 boards. With the win, Lindsey Wilson has now won five games in a row, including four in the Mid-South Conference.
Natiera Hinton led Pikeville (15-7, 5-6 MSC) with 19 points and 12 rebounds while Whitney Compton joined her in double figures with 12 points.
The Bears jumped out to a 9-1 lead on a 3-pointer by Compton with 15 minutes to play in the first half before Lindsey Wilson hammered away at the lead until it was able to tie the game at nine under two minutes later.
Rainey fueled the run, scoring 18 first-half points, the sophomore was limited to just six in the second half, but a late 3-pointer by junior Tiffany Willams sealed the win.
Lindsey Wilson (17-4, 8-2 MSC) outrebounded the Bears 46-31 and outshot them 46.9 to 35.5 percent from the field. Both teams struggled from the outside, with neither over 25.0 percent on threes.
The Blue Raiders are back in action at 6 p.m. CT on Monday, Jan. 31 against Campbellsville (Ky.) University.
