Box Score COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Viktoria Krell scored a game-high 27 points to go with five rebounds as the 19th ranked Lindsey Wilson College women's basketball team cruised past the West Virginia Institute of Technology 76-57 on Thursday in Mid-South Conference action at Biggers Sports Center.
Sophomore Ashley Rainey added a double-double of 16 points and 11 rebounds and Diondra Anthony dished out seven assists in the Blue Raiders' winning effort.
Tori Eagle and Amy Gardner led the Golden Bears with 20 and 10 points, respectively. Gardner was playing in her first game for West Virginia Tech.
Lindsey Wilson built its lead in the first half entering halftime up 39-20 before playing the Golden Bears even in the second half to secure the win.
The free-throw line was kind to Lindsey Wilson as it hit 73.5 percent of its attempts (25-of-34). The Golden Bears struggled from the field for the game, shooting just 33.3 percent compared to 46.2 percent for the Blue Raiders.
Both teams struggled from behind the arc with Lindsey Wilson hitting just three 3-pointers and West Virginia Tech connecting on five.
Lindsey Wilson finished with a 41-34 advantage on the glass, while both teams combined for 51 turnovers in the sloppy game.
Lindsey Wilson returns to action at 2 p.m. CT on Saturday, Jan. 8 against the University of Rio Grande (Ohio) at Biggers Sports Center.
