Box Score COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Diondra Anthony, Ashley Rainey and Viktoria Krell were simply too good for the University of Rio Grande (Ohio) to have a chance as the trio led the 19th ranked Lindsey Wilson College women's basketball team to an 86-75 win on Saturday at Biggers Sports Center.
Rainey paced the team with 24 points and eight rebounds, Anthony added a career-high 23 points and three assists and Krell had a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds.
A strong second half helped Jenna Smith lead Rio Grande with 20 points on 4-of-9 shooting from behind the arc, while Leah Kendro added 15 and Kaylee Helton scored 13 to lead the RedStorm.
There were five ties and five lead changes in the first half before Lindsey Wilson pulled ahead by 10 at halftime and the RedStorm were never able to climb back within reach of the lead.
Lindsey Wilson shot 44.1 percent from the field while Rio Grande edged it shooting 46.0 percent. The Blue Raider did hit nine 3-pointers while limiting Rio Grande to just six. Rio Grande entered the game as one of the best shooting teams from behind the arc in the NAIA.
Rio Grande finished the game with just eight assists and 25 turnovers, helping erase the advantage of a 42-38 lead on the glass.
